1. Yes and yes.

   A good way to explore these might be to talk about how we find them in unexpected places, or how they affect a thing lots of people don’t think about. For example, one of my colleagues wrote a whole book about how segregation and white supremacy messed up how we understand American literature (because classes tend to neglect/erase important black authors to this day, mostly because knowledge about them was suppressed in the past, because racism). Try and find some new angle or unexpected place where you can explore these issues–something you’re interested in.
