For my essay, I will engage in the investigation of psychological experiments on children throughout history and whether or not the ends justify the means. I will use many experiments in my essay that were performed at various times, as well as experiments where the subjects did not consent to participate in. By using many different experiments in different time periods, it will help to develop how psychologists in the past got away with so many verses how in today’s society it isn’t as easy to do. This essay will serve as an in-depth analysis of specific experiments, how it affected the participants, and if psychological advances were made due to them. I changed my topic from all human experiments to just experiments performed on children.

My plan for this research paper is to do it over the course of several days. I am not a person who likes to do a long paper in one day, but rather spread it out. I first want to start with finding my references and taking notes on the important information incorporated in each one. With this information, I then can discover my different claims and then use those claims to determine my evidence found in my references. From here, I will connect my different paragraphs and make the essay sound smoother. I do have fears that I may have an essay that is very repetitive since my topic is very narrow and there is only so much to talk about. Also, I am nervous that I may incorporate too much background, but with a lot of time to do this essay and many drafts, I feel that I will be able to create a successful research paper at the end.

for my paper, I will be researching the phenomenon of the glass cliff and its effect on women and minorities in the workplace. I hope it will shed light on the practice of gender and racial discrimination thats still very present in our society.

For my essay, I am sticking to my original plan of arguing the fact that pets have a positive impact on a human life. Whether it is just a house pet or service animal, studies have shown that animals, especially dogs, have shown to lead to improved mental and physical health. These studies have shown that along with increased life expectancies and lowered risk of heart attack animals give social support to those who need it.

I will be continuing with my topic of reusable products. My paper will focus on the question: Are reusable products such as straws and bags truly helping the environment?. I will be taking a look at the alternatives to single use plastic bags and plastic straws. I will evaluate how well these products accomplish the goal of reducing plastic waste. In addition, I will focus on countries that have prominent plastic waste issues and how they are dealt with.

For my paper I am going to discuss how heteronormativity is enforced in schools through the lack of representation in school curriculums, in both regular academic classes and sex education classes. The lack of representation of the LGBTQ+ community in classes leaves out entire groups of people and favors those who identify with the “standard” identities such as cisgender and heterosexuality.

For my research paper, I plan to explore the effect of sleep on academic performance in early childhood. I also plan to research topics such as: how parenting affects sleep, socioeconomics and sleep, and normal sleep patterns in early childhood. I believe all these topics tie together to find out if sleep can effect academic performance. I’m using several scholarly articles and websites to help me with my research.

For my research paper, I am going to research the effect of weather on mental health and overall mood. This is a topic I have always thought about and wanted to know more about. I will focus on specific environmental factors that cause people to feel the way they do on a daily basis, including hours of sunlight, temperature, season, and amount of time spent outside. Questions I will consider include: why does this happen, have people researched this before, and is this just a common social behavior or is it scientifically backed up? I will use several studies to support and explore my argument, and I will briefly research Seasonal Affective Disorder.

For this assignment, I have decided to write about the “Mental Battle of Professional Athletes”. This is something that not only interests me, but I can relate to as well as a former athlete. I want to dive into research of what other forms of emotions these mental battles lead to (depression, anxiety, etc.). As well as find out what is being done to overcome these obstacles.

For my research paper, I have decided to write about how soundtracks to TV and movies affect their audiences emotionally. I will conduct a poll asking people of various ages and backgrounds their favorite movies and soundtracks. I will ask the following questions while doing research: What makes a good soundtrack? How do certain songs make the audience feel? How would eliminating music from the background or altogether change a movie? I plan on researching award-winning soundtracks that people know, for example The Lion King and how good soundtracks are made. I want to research many more things that will be followed up in my actual paper. I am excited to write and research more of my topic because I am a music education major and want to learn more about different sides of music.
