P2 Final Proposal

For my final idea, I have decided to go into the idea of millennials as a generation and question why they receive so much hate in society. I will go into what positives they have contributed to society, but also what they have done different in society in a negative sense. I will talk about how older generations tend to hate on millennials and go into the idea how history tends to repeat itself with older generations disapproving of modern ones.

Final research topic

I have solidified that I am gonna do my paper on overuse injuries in sports particularly pertaining to youth athletics. I am basing my research off of a few sports that where overuse injuries are very prevalent in youth athletics such as baseball, rowing, tennis and a few more. I will also focus briefly on why they are so prevalent and what can be done to prevent these serious and possibly life long injuries. I will need to establish why overuse injuries are so larger in some sports and also why they are so important to avoid for youth athletes. Youth athletics is very important in our society and it is important that we are teaching developing athletes to love the sport they are playing, not be overworked into injury.

Final Proposal for P2

I have decided to write my paper on the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. I intend to focus on the clean up efforts that are currently being implemented or may be implemented in the future. In order to do this I will need to establish to my readers what exactly the Great Pacific Garbage Patch including how it was formed. I will also discuss the potential health risks that are posed to humans and as well as the health risks posed to marine life in order to convey the reasons in why action needs to be taken. The risks from this garbage is a very much real issue that has already begun to affect humans and marine life alike.

final proposal

I will be writing about dress codes in public high schools and how they disproportionately affect women, LGBTQ+ students, and students of color. I will discuss the problematic history of dress codes like these and the origins of ones targeted towards women, LGBTQ+ students, and students of color. I will also talk about the effects reinforcing these destructive rules have on students’ mental health and identity.

Final Proposal

For my research paper on the problem with mass shootings in America, I plan to delve into the difference between gun control laws in the United States and other similar countries. I will also be researching the number of firearm-related deaths, specifically in mass shootings which are categorized by the FBI as “four or more murdered during an event with no “cooling-off period” between the murders”, in the United States as opposed to other countries. When making this comparison I will also be sure to keep the abundant population of the United States in mind since many other countries do not have as vast of a population. I am looking to distinguish a clear pattern between the lack of legislation regarding gun control and the number of mass shootings in the United States. I will also be researching the current gun control legislation that is in place and where the hold up is and why nothing is being put into action in society to counteract mass shootings. This is relevant research because it is affecting so many people in the United States and is a crisis that needs to be dealt with through policy instead of thoughts and prayers.

final proposal

For my topic I am choosing to write about Human Evolution. The two things i am going to focus on is humans became into existence by our closest animals, chimpanzees, and religion, like supernatural power created us. I am going to talk about why i think evolution by animals is the stronger way because it has scientific facts that break it down, instead of a supernatural power that just magically created us.

Proposal

For my topic I am sticking with Gender and Music Ed, but I am going to investigate to what extent is music education gendered, focusing on how instruments are gendered in elementary and middle school (the early years of instrumental music) when students first choose their instruments. I also want to investigate how teachers can prevent a “gendered environment” in their classroom. I want to know why gender biases exists; are they learned or are they embeded in music? How can teachers go against gender “norms” and encourage gender-less music making?

proposal

I decided to do the Korean pop industry paper only because I had way more ideas and a set outline written for it. I don’t really have a set thesis it’s more of why people should pay attention to this issue and be sure not to mimic it in other music industries. I also chose this rant because a part of my final paper will include suicide and depression of the idols, and another idol just committed suicide the day the draft was due, so it was a push for me to use this idea.
