In my proposal, I plan to write my paper on “The Mental Battle of Professional Athletes”. Most stories on professional athletes always glorify their triumphs and superior strengths. Yet, weaknesses of professional athletes are not always talked about. Whether those weaknesses are anxiety, depression, lack of confidence, etc. I plan to take a deep dive into the types of things professional athletes go through mentally while being in the public eye.

I was planning on doing my essay on how psilocybin mushrooms can be used to treat depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues

(Including coverage of the adverse effects of psilosybin mushrooms don’t worry)

My plan is to go broader and mention other psychadelics being used in therapy for healing mentally and physically.

In my research paper I want to explore dreaming and how different humans dream. Dreaming is a very complex and elaborate topic so I want to focus on how people who suffer from Narcolepsy dream. This will tie in lucid dreaming. I am very interested in psychology and we just learned a little bit about dreaming so I decided that I want to focus on a certain aspect and learn more about it. I think it will be a very interesting topic to learn and write about.

How sleep affects a child’s academic performance

In my research paper I plan to explore the affects of sleep on children’s academic performance in school. I plan to mainly focus on children in early childhood and would like to explore other topics as well. Some other topics I want to research are: common sleep patterns in early childhood, effects of socioeconomics on sleep, and how parenting affects a Child’s sleep.

Should college athletes be paid?

College athletes get exploited for there likeness all over the country. College athletes such as Oklahomas quarter back Jalen Hurts and Duke basketball player Zion Williamson receive nothing and if they do they will fined for it. These are household names but yet they receive zero dollars from the NCAA and from the University who make millions of dollars each year. My paper will focus on why they should get paid and is it really worth it to be a college athlete when you could just go oversees and gain better experience and play against better skilled opponents.

Are singers in the genre of metalcore better at tone control and tone quality?

In my research paper, I am going to explore the positive effects exercise has on a person’s mental health, especially when they experience depression and/or anxiety. I’m curious to learn if exercise can be a completely alternative option from going to therapy or taking medication to try to treat depression/anxiety, or if it is only beneficial in addition to the more “traditional” treatments.

Police-

An essay which talks about if the police are there for the protection of the people or as a tool for the government to control the people and keep them in line.

Video games-

Talk about how video games have affected the mental development of kids.

Legalizing drugs

Will be on if drugs should be legalized and if so which ones. Also covers where the line is to be drawn.

The topic I have chosen for my paper is reusable products. Specifically, do reusable products such as reusable straws and reusable shopping bags actually help the environment and if yes how so. In addition, I will explore ways in which we could better accomplish the goals that these products attempt to accomplish. This would include alternative products that are better for the environment and other ideas for new products.
